Sheboygan Charter Fishing

Exciting Lake Michigan Charter Fishing!

Your Sheboygan Charter Fishing Adventure...

...begins aboard the HeadHunter II. Captain Joe Walcott will guide you out as you take in the sights of the newly redeveloped Port of Sheboygan. port of sheboygan Once you clear the breakwater you can sit back and relax on our spacious deck or in the cabin while Captain Joe throttles up and heads out in the direction of today's catch. Captain Joe takes into consideration the water temperature, water depth, wind direction, and other factors into determining where the fishing today is most likely to be the best.

When you arrive at your destination you'll power down to trolling speed as the first mate begins to bait and set your lines. The Captain and first mate decide and which baits to use based on the current conditions and the experience from prior days' trips. You are allowed up to three lines per licensed fisherman aboard, so even with only a two person charter you can still get as many as 12 lines in the water because the Captain and first mate are allowed to be included in that total.

As your lines are put in the water and dragged behind the boat you can continue to relax. The Captain and first mate will be listening for the distinctive click of the reel that will indicate when it's time to put you into action. Once there is a fish on the line the first mate will set the hook and set you up at the rear of the boat before handing the rod off to you as he guides you along on how best to work the fish up to the boat. Depending on the size of the fish, and how deep and far out the line is, this can take anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour. If you begin to get fish on multiple lines the first mate will coordinate things to avoid tangled lines and get as many fish in the cooler as possible.

Your fishing trip will continue on as above until you reach the limit of fish, the length of your trip, or you just become too tired to continue. Don't be embarrassed if you become too tired to continue. Depending on how well the fishing is, charter fishing can be tiring work, and this is your trip to do with what you want.

Once you return to the dock the first mate will help you unload your fish and move them over to the fish racks where you can all take pictures with your catch from today's fishing trip. It's then into the Wharf for cleaning. You indicate how it is that you want your fish processed, either filets, chunks, or whole, depending on how you plan to cook them. We hope that you enjoyed your Sheboygan Charter Fishing Adventure and hope to have you back aboard soon!
